Plant Street Sanitary Sewer Improvements

A portion of sanitary sewer line that flowed down Plant Street in the City of Frankenmuth and discharges into the Wastewater Treatment Plan was undersized, old and near the end of its useful life. It was the last remaining portion in 2017 that needed to be replaced in that area from previous sanitary sewer improvement projects in the City.

Spicer Group was hired by the City to provide professional engineering services on the project that would replace more than 600 linear feet of 12-inch sanitary sewer with 18-inch sanitary sewer for the City-owned system, to match the upstream size. The new line was installed with open cut and horizontal directional drilling construction methods. Along with design, Spicer Group was responsible for topographic survey, bidding assistance, permitting, and construction administration on this project.
