White Cloud Pump Station
The White Cloud Sherman Utilities Authority (WCSUA) in Newaygo County, Michigan, serves more than 1,000 customers through its wastewater collection system, originally built in 1978. Many of the mechanical components had exceeded their service life, prompting WCSUA to hire Spicer Group to assess the condition of the system and design necessary upgrades. Spicer’s improvements focused on rehabilitating all pump stations, converting eight of them into submersible pump stations for increased reliability and reduced maintenance. Additional upgrades included the installation of backup generators and a new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, which enables WCSUA staff to monitor and operate the system more efficiently.
