Gilkey Creek Flood Control and Detention Basin

Spicer Group was hired by the City of Burton to assist with the study, design and construction of a 120-acre-foot stormwater detention basin to alleviate downstream flooding in the City of Burton. The detention basin includes three chambers that work together to hold back flows from large storm events. Water control structures were designed to direct detention flows appropriately depending on the size of the storm and amount of runoff generated within the watershed
