Eastwood Pump Station
The Eastwood Pump Station within the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, just upstream of Bartel Road, services the Eastwood Drain and outlets into the Misteguay Creek Intercounty Drain through a private drainage ditch located west of Curtis Road. An old pump station had been removed from the drain several decades ago, and the drain was in need of a new one to help filter the stormwater and run off.
Spicer Group was hired by Saginaw County Public Works Commission to preform a survey and drainage study of the Eastwood Drain, then did the engineering for preliminary designs for both improvements to the open channel and construction of a new pump station. The new design included a sturdy structure and wetwell, pump discharge force mains, carefully selected pumps and motors, a manual trash rack, site access, grading, lighting, drainage, security and remote monitoring system, controls and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System.
