Carson City Splash Pad

The Carson City West Park is located in the very middle of Michigan’s lower peninsula off of East Main Street. The Park is across the way from Mill Pond by Fish Creek which flows out of the Grand River. It is part of the 80 acres of recreational area within the County of Montcalm.  In 2018 it was decided to add a new splash pad to the greenery in the park as well as update the restrooms. The City was also awarded a grant from the DNR Land and Conservation Fund in the amount they had requested of $150,000. The grant would cover the cost of the new splash pad and restrooms with changing space. It did not cover the new sidewalk renovations, or water line that the city had to construct as well. Spicer Group took on this project and provided grant admission work, designs, bidding assistance, construction administration and topographical surveys.

Spicer Group was also responsible for the development of designs for the Carson City West Park renovations which involved lots of site visits for photographs, measurements, and data collection. They also collaborated with Splash Play manufacturer to pick equipment incorporate client feedback and select finalized plans for the restrooms and splash pad. During the bidding phase Spicer Group was contracted to prepare ads, provide proper documentation for bidding and answer questions about the project.
