Carson City Main Pump Station
Spicer Group provided professional engineering services to support Carson City’s Main Pump Station project through the development and execution of an EGLE-approved Work Plan valued at $341,129. Spicer’s portion of the work focused on completing activities eligible under the Asset Management Plan (AMP) and Distribution System Materials Inventory (DSMI) through the DWAM grant program. Services included updating the City’s GIS-based water system inventory, conducting field investigations like hydro-excavation and in-home inspections to verify unknown water service line materials, and integrating this data into the City's GIS for future planning.
Additional tasks included updating the Water Reliability Study, evaluating system condition and risk scores, developing a 5-year and 20-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and supporting a rate study to guide long-term funding decisions. Spicer Group also led the coordination with EGLE, prepared the final Asset Management Report, and presented it to the City Board. Through this comprehensive effort, Spicer helped Carson City improve asset tracking, compliance, and infrastructure planning for its water distribution system.
