First Year of Internship
SKills you will acquire:
Become familiar with company and client standards
Develop basic AutoCAD skills
Learn to perform quantity calculations
Learn to develop layout alignments and road geometry
Develop knowledge of plan preparation and assist the team with plan setup (Title Sheet, Cross Sections, Details, etc)
on-the-job Experience you will acquire:
Assist technicians, designers, and engineers on roadways projects
Assist team with field reviews
Second Year of Internship
Skills you will acquire:
Perform and become proficient with AutoCAD drafting
Become proficient in alignments and road geometry
Become proficient in plan preparation (Title Sheet, Cross Sections, Details, etc) following company and client standards
On-the-job experience you will acquire:
Perform Road Modeling (road profiles, corridors, earthwork) with supervision
Perform independent work and take on a lead role for small design tasks for projects
Work directly with a Spicer Group Transportation Manager or Project Manager
Third and Fourth Year of Internship
Skills you will acquire:
Become proficient with road modeling
Learn different road design tasks and requirements of a project with supervision
on-the-job experience you will acquire:
Perform entry-level design engineering duties on projects
Work directly with a Spicer Group Transportation Manager or Project Manager
