DOUD ROAD BRIDGE
Spicer Group provided engineering design and construction administration services for the replacement of the Doud Road Bridge over the North Branch of the Kawkawlin River, located approximately 0.41 miles east of 8 Mile Road. The existing 128-foot-long, five-span timber deck bridge, originally built in 1972, was replaced with a single-span prestressed concrete bridge designed in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications for HL-93 Modified loadings.
The new structure was designed to meet current design standards and includes two 12-foot lanes with 8-foot shoulders, improving safety and reliability while maintaining the rural character of the roadway. Spicer Group’s team provided design engineering, plan preparation, permitting coordination, and construction administration throughout the project to ensure quality, compliance, and successful delivery.
