KOCHVILLE & BRANCHES ICD LOMR

Kochville Township worked with Spicer Group to prepare a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) for the Kochville & Branches Intercounty Drain and South Branch floodplains regulated under FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program. Spicer’s team completed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, applied improved calculation methods, and incorporated new topographic data to reflect changes in land use and recent drain maintenance.

Spicer managed the project from the initial 2016 submittal through FEMA’s review process, addressing technical comments and resubmitting revised documents after the original application was suspended in 2020. The updated LOMR application provided FEMA with defensible, data-driven revisions to correct outdated floodplain mapping, ultimately reducing mapped floodplain areas and giving Kochville Township and its residents a more accurate understanding of flood risk.
