Attend local village, township, or city meetings with supervisor
Perform basic construction observation
Perform collection of data in the field
Build upon skills from Year 1
Gain experience in cost estimating and assist in developing preliminary estimates of cost for projects
Develop basic waterGEMS modeling skills
Quantity take-offs using AutoCAD or Google Earth
Second Year of Internship
SKILLS YOU WILL ACQUIRE:
Perform construction observation on more complex items
Assist with hydrant flow testing
ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE YOU WILL ACQUIRE:
Learn to use the arrow unit to collect GIS data in the field
Attend more advanced trainings (CIPP, MACP, LACP, GIS, AutoCAD, MDOT Concrete level 1)
Assist the project management and administration
Perform design calculations (pump and pipe sizing, liner sizing)
Third & Fourth Year of Internship
ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE YOU WILL ACQUIRE:
Build upon skills from Year 2
Assist with plan development
Begin performing Design Engineer tasks
Learn how to review CCTV video inspections and MACP manhole inspections
Learn about CIPP liner thickness calculations
