First Year of Internship

SKills you will acquire:

• Become proficient with basic survey equipment and methods

• Become proficient in compaction testing

• Assist with project documentation

Training certifications you will acquire:

• OSHA 10

• Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC)

• Troxler Safety

• MDOT Density Technology

On-the-job experience you will acquire:

• Shadow Senior level technicians on various construction project types

• Exposure to performing inspection independently or with our project team

Second Year of Internship

Skills You will acquire:

• Become proficient in inspection and material testing

• Develop and provide required documentation for projects

Training certifications you will acquire:

• Michigan Concrete Technician Level I

On-the-job experience you will acquire:

• Exposure to inspection on multiple types of construction projects including water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, roadways, and bridges.

• Perform independently and take on a lead role for small inspection projects

• Work directly with a Spicer Group Construction Manager or Project Manager

Third and Fourth Year of Internship

On-the-job experience you will acquire:

• Perform entry-level Construction Service Technician duties

• Assist with project documentation review and calculations
