Spicer Group surveyor Casey Bierlein stands on a massive limestone rock in the middle of the Cass River in downtown Frankenmuth while providing surveying services for the construction of the massive fish ladder. The project reconnects the fish of the Saginaw Bay to more than 73 miles of historically significant spawning areas along the Cass River and its tributaries.
Spicer Group inspector Jacob Chartier took this photo while working on US-127 just north of Lansing after crews were finishing up for the night installing the overhead truss and new signs. The worker in the bucket is going up to finish tightening the bolts on the truss before the highway was opened to traffic.
March's calendar page showcases the 100-foot bridge being lowered into place in Alabaster Township, MI. This bridge is part of the Sunrise Side Pathway, a non-motorized path that provides 7 miles of universal access.
The Clifford Spicer Scholarship Fund was founded in 1998 in honor of Spicer Group founder, Clifford H. Spicer. It is administered by the Saginaw Community Foundation and awarded each May to a high school senior or college student that is studying Civil Engineering or Land Surveying, the disciplines studied by Mr. Spicer.
