Spicer Group construction inspector Bruce Carlstrom walks along a paver laying down hot mix asphalt on North Street in the Village of St. Charles. Spicer Group provided survey, design and construction inspection for the project, which included over a mile of full reconstruction. The project was funded through MDOT's Surface Transportation Program and State D funding.
Spicer worked with the Conservation Resource Alliance to design a plan that restores native steelhead and salmon spawning migrations with the Green River in Antrim County by removing an old sheetpile dam that blocked upstream movement. The dam was replaced with a new channel of rocks and boulders to reduce stream velocities.
Spicer Group Construction inspector Nathan Pfenninger, P.E., snapped this photo while perched 100 feet above the Saginaw River on a bridge pier during the Zilwaukee Bridge Bearing Replacement Project.
Spicer Group surveyor Casey Bierlein stands on a massive limestone rock in the middle of the Cass River in downtown Frankenmuth while providing surveying services for the construction of the massive fish ladder. The project reconnects the fish of the Saginaw Bay to more than 73 miles of historically significant spawning areas along the Cass River and its tributaries.
